“There’s a place where the waves crash, the tide heaves and the weather rolls in off the Atlantic Ocean. It’s called Ballinskelligs Bay in Co. Kerry. That’s where you’ll find me, painting distant views from the water’s edge. Today’s ocean is alive with the Atlantic swell, and a tiny trawler is moored head-to-wind. The boat looks puny on the waves as the crew struggle to batten down the hatches. As I paint I am doused in salty spray, immersing me in the arms of mother nature.” – Rod Coyne.
