“In 2015 I had reached a junction in my painting practice. After years of creating Atmospheric landscapes, followed by more years of Pallet Knife landscapes, I had resolved to merge the two. It proved quite a challenge. And it threw up some very exciting results, some of which are my favorite paintings to date. “Slaney Estuary” is one of them. I love the contract between to focused and unfocused areas. Here’s a little time-lapse video of my process that day.” – Rod Coyne.
