Back in 2021 I spent a wonderful afternoon painting a big triptych in Kilmacurragh Botanical Gardens, Co Wicklow, Ireland. Sit back and enjoy watching me do all the work, surrounded by exotic botanicals.
This painting was a commission to celebrate the extraordinary place that Kilmacurragh Broadwalk is and its important to my patron. It was my third time to paint there in close succession that year. I went first to complete a smaller version with oils on canvas as a type of warmup. A week later I was back again working with acrylics on paper to create a painting demo for the Avoca Painting School. So when the the day came around to paint the big commission I was already totally in the zone…
The merry painter 😉
