“I simply love to paint from this look-out on the side of Hog’s Head, at Ballinskelligs Bay. I work perched at an elevation which triggers butterflies in my tummy. The butterflies make me feel a little reckless and dare me to take artistic risks. Turning the forty shades of Irish green to forty shades of red seems to reflect the dizzy, otherness that I’m experiencing. There’s a surreality to the moment which gives the familiar just a little edge.” – Rod Coyne.
