Created in south County Wicklow, Rod Coyne’s painting “Tony’s Trees”, depicts dreamlike sun set behind a dark hilltop forest. “This is/was the view from my back garden. I used to get a crick in my neck marveling at the majesty of these tall bows so far above me. One day I came home to see the whole ridge being harvested by a monstrous tree-gobbling machine. I was heart broken for a day. Then I realized how much new light poured into the garden and how much more sky I could now see. I immediately forgot about the heart-ache then.” – Rod Coyne.
