Provenance

“Local people of Ballinskelligs, refer to the stretch of water between Horse Island and Bolus Head as the ‘Lady’s Ruff’. They’re referring to the line of  of crashing waves among the rocks and how they resemble a round and flat collar seen is so many Rembrandt portraits. I see a churning sea forced between island and headland, more ‘rough’ than ‘ruff’. Being a Gaeltacht district, and Irish being a poetic expression of language, I should really have known to expect a crafty pun from my ancestors on the Ivereagh Peninsula.” – Rod Coyne.

Rod’s ‘Lady’s Ruff Icing’ would surely make the perfect addition to any home or office for art collectors and County Kerry fans alike. It is signed on the front and carries a date and inscription by the artist on the reverse.
