“I felt unleashed as I lashed into this canvas with gay abandon. Earlier that morning I had completed one painting (on camera) for the 2015 Sky Artist Wild Card heats. So I started this as the other painters went off for lunch, knowing that I had very little time to paint, but that I also had nothing to lose. My earlier piece struck me as a too ‘safe’ and a bit dull. Now I was determined to go mad and create the world as I sensed it around me; a natural world volatile and mesmerizing and beautiful.” – Rod Coyne.
