“There’s a place where the waves crash, the tide heaves and the weather rolls in off the Atlantic Ocean. It’s called Ballinskelligs Bay in Co. Kerry. That’s where you’ll find me, painting distant views from the tiny village of Cill Rialaig. Today’s ocean is alive with the Atlantic swell. There’s a enchanting type of sanctuary offered by the Cill Rialaig artists retreat, where I was based when creating this piece. It shields me the daily domestic routines, while immersing me to the wilds of mother nature.” – Rod Coyne.
